    Hadoop Streaming Hadoop is an open-source implementation of the MapReduce platform and distributed file system.

    The Hadoop system is written in Java. Hadoop Streaming is a utility that comes with the Hadoop distribution and that can be used to invoke streaming programs that are not written in Java (such as Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, R, or C++). Using this utility, we can execute database programs written in the Ruby programming language. The utility also allows the user to create and run Map and Reduce jobs with any executable programs or scripts as the mapper and the reducer
