    Not quite the perfect week-end...
    Forel, August 20th, 2013. The Honda National Motos Team not taking part in this race, the 3rd of the Endurance World Championship, Greg was free to enrol with another team for it. He chose to compete with his 2012 team, the Yamaha Maco Team, alongside the Italian rider Massimo Roccoli and the Spanish rider Chema Luis Rita.
    Despite a racetrack he particularly appreciates, all 3 riders found it difficult to compromise over the best settings for the bike. At the end of the qualifying session, Greg qualified in 1.28.9, Roccoli in 1.29.5 and Rita in 1.30.0. Overall they managed the 15th positioning the starting grid. Evidently, Greg was a little disappointed, but confident they could progress during the race. Bad feelings on the front... 12:45 - Greg is chosen to take the race's start. He quickly manages to come back in the top 10, but he has bad sensations about the bike's front wheel, leading him to crash in the race's 4th lap. After having lost 9 laps to repair the bike, the team is back in the race to try and make it back in the top 20. The team finishes the race in 17th position, 8th of their category. They therefore score a few points counting towards the world championship ranking, but nothing worth popping the champagne unfortunately. a helpful training for Le Mans A the end of the day, Greg trying to look at the be right side of the week-end : "I was lucky to race with someone who won races in the World Supersport Championship, that's definitely something! I was satisfied with my qualifying session, even if I know it doesn't make up for everything. Even though I hadn't made any mistake during a race in 20 World Endurance Championship starts, I still crashed and ruined the team's hopes and dreams right from the start. I therefore would like to sincerely apologise to both my co-riders and the entire team. A least it will have been a good and helpful opportunity to train for the Le Mans 24 Hours, which I'm really confident about; we will have a great bike, and we are 3 competitive riders hungry for a strong result..." Next race : September 21st-22nd, 24 Heures du Mans
