Use this calculator to select objectively between alternatives when there are many criteria for each alternative, such as in "build or buy" decisions. When used in a crossfunctional group setting, this helps the group agree on the decision. See Instructions for more details.

Instructions
1. Agree on decision criteria. For example, "Features/Functions," "Quality," "Timeliness," "Cost," "Additional Value-add," "Risk." 2. Designate the importance of each decision criteria by assigning each a percentage - a weighting. 3. Agree on a method to rate each alternative on each criterion. Typically, alternatives are rated on a 1 to 10 scale, with 10 being the highest rating. Input ratings in all boxes, intersecting alternatives and criteria. 4. Once the calculator completes totaling the rankings (in red), identify the alternative with the highest ranking as the superior alternative. See the example for more information.
