ABOUT STOCK MARKET

Stock market is a capital market. Stock market availability in whole world. Bangladesh has two stock market, Dhaka stock exchange (DSE) and Chittagong stock exchange (CSE). Dhaka stock started approximate 40 years ago. Chittagong stock exchange started 1995.Currently main function of DSE and CSE are the listing companies, the sattlement of trading the providing of screen based automated trading of listed security. Market administration, market control and the production of monthly review publication. CSE brings first online based trading. Now anyone can trade in CSE from anywhere by online. But DSE not yet started online based trading. It will be started very soon. DSE and CSE both maintain by Securities and Exchange commission (SEC). SEC is a government institute. DSE and CSE most companies share are electronic share. And this share trading maintain by Central Depository of Bangladesh Limited (CDBL). CDBL is a nonprofitable company. Share Business has two system for investors. One is Initial public offering (IPO). And other is secondary market. Secondary market is so popular. Now IPO also getting popularity. Stock market has lots of listed companies. They are divided by their activities in four catagories. Catagories are A, B, N and Z. A means very good performance. B means good performance. N means new listed company. Z means performance no so good. So every investor should invest their money in safe category. Then they would be gainer. Listed every company has face value, market lot, Authorized capital, paid up capital, Eps, P/E ratio, Reserve and surplus and Circuit breaker. If any company share P/E ratio is low( under 40), then this company has low risk for investor. Every company has Accounting year. After one year every company must give dividend from their after tax profit to investor. There are stock dividend cash dividend, bonus share for dividend. Every dividend pass by Companies yearly AGM or EGM. AGM means Annual General Meeting. EGM means Extra Ordinary General Meeting.
