Students need a three-ring binder, pen or pencil and paper daily. **The NOTEBOOK is where you will keep your materials. Foreign Language State Standards of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be emphasized. Comprehensible Input will be the method of delivery. 6 WEEKS GRADE is 30 % of the final grade. The semester exam is 10 % of the final grade. Additional Information: Each class will begin with a 10-minute silent voluntary reading. Students are expected to read and take notes on vocabulary learned. The reading log will be collected at the end of each six weeks along with a notebook check. Students are expected to show that they are engaged and learning and will be assessed on the following rubric:
Work Missed: Students who are absent have 3 days per absence to see the teacher and make up work lost due to an excused absence. Any work not completed will be recorded as 0. Daily attendance is extremely important. Class Expectations: 1. The use of any electronic devices (including, but not limited to: CELL PHONES, iPods, pads, cameras, video cameras, mp3 players, etc) is strictly prohibited in the classroom. If there is an emergency and the family needs to contact the student, they need to contact the school secretary at 720 423 5200. 2. Absences should only be due to medical or legal reasons. If there are 3 unexcused absences, the parents or legal guardians will be contacted. 3. All work must be turned on time. Any late work will be points per day. 4. Students MUST wear their uniforms in order to enter the classroom. Those who are not wearing their uniforms will be sent to the Student Advisors. 5. It is essential that you come prepared for class each day. 6. Preparation means ready to learn, listen, participate actively, be attentive and to have respect for classmates, students and the learning process.
