We use aluminium busbars for LT panels and copper for Ht panels Why? There is no norms which specifies this.

This is only form the point of view of cost. Lt panels are large in umber. Hence if wer use aluminium, that saves cost. Similarly, Ht panels are by default, bulky (because of VCB or SF6). Copper is a better conductor than aluminium. For the same cross section, it carries more current. Hence less copper is required. This reduces the size of the panel. HT panels are invariably used in outdoor. Space is a premium. This saves space and provides more clearance. Panel to panel or panel to transformer clearance required for HT (11 kV and above) (for breaker draw out from panel or rear clearance for maintenance or HT cable termination/joint) is more compared to LT.
