Students will work in flexible groups (1-2) to research and create a product on a current event of their interest that deals with globalization. Possible links can be found on my Webpage under the Current Event tab. Students have the opportunity to choose among the sites/topics found on my Weebly. TASK: You will be creating a RAFT and presenting your topic to the class. You are a concerned world citizen that is either overly happy or overly angry about the way the world leaders are handling the issue that you researched.
WRITING RAFT:

Identify: the issue how world leaders are handling it consequences/impact of their decisions on the world community, and what they could do differently in written form Minimum 3 paragraphs (one for each identification topic) with no less than 6 sentences per paragraph; if you are creating a poem, the minimum is 36 lines. Can be setup as a rant, news report, editorial in magazine, Daily Show sarcasm, Colbert Report, poem or song All work should be placed on individual webpage Concluding Activity: a] 30-45 second presentation on chosen topic [to include partners, if applicable] b] 3-4 slide PowerPoint must be used while presenting
Uploading Instructions: Your RAFT must be uploaded as a document to the Current Event Tab of your Webpage, along with your PowerPoint for presentation The title you must use at the top of your page is Current Event Breakout #1 it should be centered on the page. [remember: neatness is a reflection on the owner!] If you do not already have a picture on your subpage which represents Current Events, please change it or you will lose points. Both must be uploaded as a document and not as a link. * Make sure your keep track of which sites you use- especially if they are not provided by teacher. Type the URLs on the bottom of your product!!**
