Maths

Data Handling: Data can be collected, organized, displayed and analysed in different ways. Different graph forms highlight different aspects of data more efficiently. Measurement: Standard

Measurement: Relationships exist between standard units that measure the same attributes (Time)

Number: Even complex operations can be modelled in a variety of ways, for example, an algorithm is a way to represent an operation.

Measurement: Objects and events have attributes that can be measured using appropriate tools. (length, distance) Geometric shapes and vocabulary are useful for representing and describing objects and events in realworld situations.

Number: Fractions and decimals are ways of representing whole-part relationships.

Shape and Space: Shapes can be transformed in different ways. Pattern and Function: Functions are relationships or rules that uniquely associate members of one set with members of another set. By analysing patterns and identifying rules for patterns

Shape and Space: Changing the position of a shape does

measurement

not alter its properties. Shape and Space: Geometric shapes and vocabulary are useful for representing and describing objects and events in realworld situations.

it is possible to make predictions.

Maths continuous

Data Handling: Probability can be based on experimental events in daily life. Probability can be expressed in numerical notations. Number: The base 10 place value system can be extended to represent magnitude. The operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are related to each other and are used to process information to solve problems.

Pattern and Function: Functions are relationships or rules that uniquely associate members of one set with members of another set. By analysing patterns and identifying rules for patterns it is possible to make predictions.
IT Represent mathematical data in electronic data handling tools Excel calorific value of different foods how many do we take daily, how many do we burn in different activities? History of the computer why was it invented how it has changed our lives, introduction of internet etc. Create a timeline (website) or Smart Art in Word programme. Create email contacts with students in different places. Use Skype to communicate, video conference with students in Ankara. Students have a twitter account and choose someone to follow. And they can write a daily tweet. Vkv Use scanner to make digital documents. Link to Art. Explore changes in digital media e.g. LP records, mp3 Make their own video of themselves playing sports. E.g demonstration of promotion videos. Discussing the effect of digital developments on sports. Google Earth to look at local buildings, infrastructure Use Publisher to make a brochure with information about the local community facilities etc. Research and compare local and worldwide celebrations on the internet. Make a video of traditional clothes day, or interviews about celebrations or reenactment of celebration or tradition. Use paint to draw an invented machine to do a job of students choice.

(possibly parents or teachers could be visiting dance teachers) Design traditional costumes and artefacts related to celebrations from different cultures.

Racquet sports Investigate how sports tools are simple machines (rackets, skates) and how we can use them effectively.

Students will study how inventions in art (tools, techniques, materials) have changed the way people express themselves through art media. They will look at some examples of the work of artists who have worked with

Create Art with modern technology. Link to IT scanning?

Study exiting facilities / architecture to learn about design, shape, colour etc. Create own buildings / structures. Make sketches and create models.
