Why you cannot miss this event
Mechanical parts fail. Period. Unless someone has found a way to defy the laws of physics, wear and tear cannot be avoided, but the eects can be mitigated by
performing planned and periodic maintenance work. In todays fast moving consumer demand, ageing related failures could compromise the plant productivity and
subsequently aect the business performance and protability. To eectively manage todays plants, plant managers need to involve and equip the dierent specialists with
the tools and eective planning which will dier from one section of the plant to the next.
Trueventus understands that managing ageing plants is a key component for business success in the process industry of Asia. This conference will be a groundbreaking
platform for delegates who will be interested to know the latest strategies to maintain productivity and minimising costs of maintaining an ageing plant.

SIRF Roundtables, Australia
0930 Workshop
Effective problem solving and Issue management system
(Poot Cause Analysls) ls an essentlal competency ln any buslness today, at
individual, team and organizational levels. It is required for both incident
evaluation and continuous improvement work projects.
Purpose of the Workshop is to provide an overview of the RCA and issue
management process:
Learnlng an enectlve Problem Solvlng methodology
Provldlng the organlsatlon wlth a means to qulckly analyse problems and
identify the best solution in a consistent, eective and transparent manner
This half-day workshop will provide an opportunity for you to evaluate the RCA
RT approach for your organisation. The RCA method employs a simple
approach to root cause analysis, incident investigation and problem solving.
We build on a foundation of understanding 5 whys then expand to simple
cause and eect diagrams that everyone can easily relate to. We focus on the
basic principles of cause-and-eect and evidence. Its important to demystify
some of the conventional language and terminology surrounding root cause
analysis.
Participants will learn the basic concepts and denitions as well as the steps to
lmplementlng creatlve solutlons. The best tlps for facllltatlng (leadlng) group
problem solving will also be covered.
Overview of Approach
There are three stages ln PCA Pt:
Pocus: so we concentrate re power and achleve a result
Plnd Causes: so we know why
Plx Porever: to stop lt happenlng agaln
During the workshop we will work through each stage using
a combination of:
Dlscusslon of own examples (syndlcates or group dlscusslon)
Paper exerclses, worklng ln groups
Attacklng model problems, worklng ln groups
The workshop will also deal in some detail with the problems associated with
hidden assumptions and the eective analysis of data and information. Upon
request, attendees to the conference will be given.
1230 End of conference
