Welcome to 4th grade!

We are going to have a fantastic school year where we will build upon what students have learned in third grade while challenging them to think deeply about new content. We will find success in math by making sure we have our basic multiplication facts mastered so we are able to forge ahead into other math topics such as fractions and long division. In language arts we will focus on comprehension and strategies that will help us become more fluent in our reading and writing. Students are expected to attend school on time, come prepared, and positively contribute to the learning environment of the classroom. Members of my class will follow Hillsdales Codes of Conduct: Be Respectful, each student is expected to show respect for all adults, peers, and property, Follow Directions Quickly, students are expected to follow directions the first time given, KYFOOTY, this stands for, keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself. Supplies Required: Zipped Binder Zippered Pencil Holder Supplies Recommended: Colored pencils Glue stick Highlighter/Pen Homework Watch for planners! o Students will write down assignments and planners should be signed daily. Read 20 min. every night

I will be in contact with all parents throughout the year, but you may also contact me via email, phone, or schedule a conference. I understand the importance of a parent teacher partnership and value open communication. I look forward to working with you to ensure your student has a successful year in fourth grade!
