The nature of USAs aggression through the introduction of a series of hostile measures to force the moderation of Castros reforms had expanded the conflict by indirectly involving USSR in the near future. General Argument: Castros nationalisation of USAs assets and lack of political cooperation had pushed for a change in USAs policy to one of aggression; one in which USA is determined to oust Castro. The change in policy resulted in a series of hostile actions including trade sanctions, Bay of Pigs and covert measures, such as ones introduced in Operation Mongoose. These measures backfired and ironically saw to the strengthening of Castros administration. USAs aggressive policies caused Castro to retaliate and seek help from USSR which eventually drew in the Soviets; expanding the nature of the conflict
