in the Ukrop Auditorium to inform prospective accounting majors of whats in store for them. At the information meeting I, personally, learned a lot things I didnt know about the major. There are 25 schools abroad that partner with the Robins School of Business. Although studying abroad for a semester as an accounting major can be difficult because you are not allowed to take an accounting class internationally, it is manageable. If youre not one to take risks, there is also the option of a short term study abroad. This short term in the spring is geared towards accounting majors and gives the opportunity to understand how the IFRS works and how it is viewed outside of the U.S. Accounting majors happen have their own career advisor in the Career Development Center. Room 311, Frank Allen, associate director of career services. Allen is available Wednesday through Friday from 2:00-4:00 pm and also counsels students interested in financial careers. The office is directly connected to alumni that work in the Big Four or in other firms. Through SpiderConnect a student can set up mock interviews with alumni who are willing to help the student better prepare themselves for the future. SpiderConnect is also a great employer database. The informational meeting put in perspective what a student should be doing to start their career and hop on the A train.
