A SUMMER YOUTH CAMP DEDICATED TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR SPORTS MOBILITY & MAXIMIZE YOUR ACADEMIC POTENTIAL
Our Mission is to operate a camp to allow children to overcome Academic, Social, and Emotional Difficulties so that they may reach their full potential by providing them with the opportunity and tools necessary to achieve excellence in all facets of their lives.
STANDARDS
Standard 6: National Health Education Standards Students will demonstrate the ability to use goal-setting skills to enhance health. Standard 6: National Association for Sport and Physical Education Students value physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.
STANDARD 4
Health-Enhancing Physical Fitness:
Background Checks Each of the students will have acquired a background check within the last year due to Service Learning and Student Teaching positions fulfilled. They will be required to bring proof of that background check when they complete the Information Sheet. Drug Testing Working students will sign for a release of drug testing on the Information Sheet. There will be a certified clinician on-site one week before the beginning of camp to complete the testing. Each working student should report for drug testing at that time. The results of those tests will be sent to the Staffing Office of Health Fun and Fitness. Staff to Student Ratio The ratio for staff member to student will be 10:1 for all levels. There will be an overall coach each day to direct the physical education program. These same workers will assist in registration of the students, administer snacks, and help oversee physical activities; all with their respective group.
Cardio- The next 15 minutes of the session will be a small cardio workout. (pushups, sit-ups, squats, etc.)
Fitness Games- The last 30 minutes of the fitness session will be spent playing fun fitness games chosen by the kids. (soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.)
