Symbols

In the next pages you will see some symbols used in the hydraulic schematics.

Filter
This symbol is used to point out a hydraulic filter. Sometimes, this symbol is slightly changed.

Cylinder
This is the symbol used to pointy out the double acting cylinder. Cylinders with internal buffering and single acting cylinders have slightly different symbols.

Check Valve
A check valve controls the flow of hydraulic oil.

Fixed orifices
Restricts the oil flow

Pump
A hydraulic is symbolized with this symbol. When its a hydraulic engine, the arrow points to the center.

Accumulator
The accumulator can store hydraulic energy with aid of nitrogen. As a gas, nitrogen can be compressed, thus store energy.

Relief valve
A relief valve opens when the pressure is over the previously determined maximum. The oil will flow back to the tank.
