Students will: 1. Identify nouns, verbs and adjectives 2. Recognize mistakes in punctuation and capitalization 3. Compose simple sentences
ASSESSMENTS
Observations: n/a Key Questions: What is a noun? What is a verb? How do you use these in simple sentences?
Written/Performance Assessments: Formative: Compose simple sentences using nouns, verbs and proper punctuation and capital letters.
Body (5 min.):
Learning Activity #1: Sort nouns, verbs and adjectives using Drag/Drop Smart board lesson Learning Activity #2: Identify nouns and verbs in sample sentences. Correct punctuation and capitalization mistakes.
Closure ( 1 min.):
Formative assessment: Individuals (2 or 3) compose simple sentences using nouns, verbs, periods and capitalization on the Smart Board. (Chose individuals at random, or by voluntary basis). The class corrects the sentences as a whole.
