English
Reading
Identifies and interprets key ideas and information in a text to provide an accurate overview in order Responds to texts by discussing the ways language structures shape meaning Analyses the ways main events or characters are presented by comparing to your own experiences and/or other texts

Talking and Listening


Provides detail and supporting evidence in a sequential manner when engaged in debating and public speaking in front of an audience Engages the audience when making oral presentations by using a variety of strategies such as expression, gestures and pausing for effect. Listens and responds appropriately during debating to provide a stronger case to support their argument

Writing
Draws ideas from personal experiences, texts and research to create imaginative texts. Students include: topic specific language to compare objects and places Locates resources and accesses information when planning a written text Digitally produces ideas and information for different purposes and audiences Uses sentence and simple punctuation correctly Spells most high frequency and grade appropriate words correctly.

Mathematics
Measurement & Data
Demonstrates an understanding of mass to solve given problems Demonstrates an understanding of capacity and volume on commercial products Creates and interprets information in 2-way data tables

Number
Uses multiplication and division as inverse operations Poses word problems to demonstrate an understanding of multiplication and division Uses tenths and hundredths to represent fractional parts of a whole Selects and uses appropriate strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems

Science & Technology


Can describe how we communicate by talking, non-verbal communication and physical communication.

Evaluates the effectiveness of sending messages by mail, codes and signals. Identifies the varied methods of communication technology including radio, television, telephone, internet, modern devices and print media. Describes changes to plant seeds during germination and to the seedling during growth.

CAPA
Discusses musical terminology and its meaning Performs musical compositions demonstrating their knowledge of elementary musical concepts Explores different aspects of subject matter when creating their own artworks

PDHPE
