Guiding questions: How are you using your universal screener data? Math- We are analyzing our STAR Math computer testing by breaking our kids down into groups. We are identifying our students by TIER 1, 2 and 3 and discussing as a grade level our plans for intervention. (SOAR, Flexible Small groups, Accelerated Math, etc.) Reading- We are analyzing our BOY Reading test and Istation computer test to find focus areas for Reading. We identified students by level of Tier 1, 2, and 3 and are also collecting data from Rigby-DRA testing this week. This will allow us to begin small group intervention and book clubs. (SOAR, breakfast club, istation, parent contact, and parent/teacher conferences) How are you using Unit Test data? Math- We are working with our IC to identify which TEKS were our biggest struggle and putting them in our plans as Spiral TEKS to make sure we reteach the following week. We analyzed our data and formed two to three small groups based off our unit test. WE highlighted our Target TEKS. We identified and discussed patterns with our subpopulations. Reading- We are identifying the TEKS that should have a good foundation already, but are still struggling and which TEKS we as a whole group will have to hit hard. (poetry, expository, and drama) We are using spiral warm-ups to do our poetry, word break-down, and vocabulary building. We will begin using our Rigby data to form small groups by Tier and allow higher students to see teacher and independently also work with TA for book club. Describe your communication so far with parents regarding student achievement. Progress reports were recently sent home a week ago. Also, any weekly assessment failures are sent home to be corrected to regain partial credit and parent signatures are required upon being returned. Emails and/or phone calls are also being made regarding individual students who might be struggling in certain subjects or with particular concepts. How many students failed in the first grading period ? Do you have names? Yes , we looked at our failure report as a grade level and made each teacher copies of any student with a 75% or below. What additional data have you collected on these students? We have administered a BOY 3rd grade assessment (2009 TAKS Released Test) for both Reading and Math, and have also used that data to determine how to best create our intervention small groups. What communication occurred for these students between parents and teachers? We have a contacted each parent via phone or email. We are in constant contact with each parent in regards to the students academic progress in the class. How are you tracking these students? Tracking their weekly assessment scores iStation Accelerated math
