Journey across Macedonia

Crossing the mountains, we traveled to the village where my friend is born and through the
curved road, the village started to stick out decorated with small houses wrapped in the
mountain…

…like in the past, it’s same today … the life in the village is not changed much.
As we’re getting closer to his house… some curious eyes..

..and the fearless shepherd dogs were accompanying our walk

It was pleasantly to see the old and unaffected customs and architecture…

The bell tower, identical to the one at the church of St.Salvation in Skopje
The watermill stones..
The local preparation for the upcoming carnival
The traditional Macedonian wood carving…
Which is still preserved by the new generations..
Ahh… and the traditional good pishii..

.. Served to us when we finally arrived to the old house ..

But,

the whole scenery with the road, the little boy, the shepherd dog, the bell tower, the carnival
mask, the wood carving, the traditional food and the old house are not placed in Macedonia and I
haven’t moved from my chair.

And if you all thought differently before…it’s not bad, you just proved you are able to recognize
the “Macedonian” note even if everything in this story has its place on the other side of the
world... But still, it’s so close… almost identical.
