Tina Le ELED 300 What I believe is the most important topics in module 2 are teacher planning, different ways

to teach more effective, and the different way for students involvement. All these topic will help me become a more effective teacher. I will apply the knowledge I learned from these chapter and competency 3, 4, and 8 to my classrooms. Teachers planning allows us teacher to serves four important functions. First function, it helps you clarify your learning objectives, so you know what youre trying to accomplish with your students throughout the week, when you work with them. In Competency 8 it stated, The teacher provides appropriate instruction that actively engages students in learning process. I believe it ties in with the second function, which is plans to help you anticipate instructional needs in advance so you can gather and organize needed materials. It ties together because providing an appropriate instruction is the same thing as planning or writing out instructions to anticipate your students needs. Third is also provides a script that helps you guide your interactions with your students. Fourth it provides a form of emotional or psychological security, which will help with your insecurity and boost your confidence and help reduce anxiety. You also have to factor in the different influences in teacher planning. One of them is the teacher themselves. Teachers ask themselves these questions, Who am I? What do I know? How do I teach most effectively? We all know not everyone teaches the same. Everyone has to adapt to your teachers and to your students. What also influence teachers are the learners themselves. You have to find out what do they know, and how they prefer to learn. Time is a big issue in teacher planning. How much time do I have to teach different topics? How are the school days and year

divided in terms of time? As teachers you are expected to teach a certain amount of curriculum in that school year. In Competency 3, it states, The teacher understand procedures for designing effective coherent instruction and assessment based on appropriate learning goals and objectives. Having an appropriate learning environment is an important part of becoming an effective teacher. Classroom must be a positive environment for students to learn. A positive classroom environment promotes an atmosphere where students are more engaged, which optimizes the instructional time. , which ultimately maximizes students achievements. This goes along with personal teaching efficacy, the belief that teachers and schools can have an important positive impact on students. Teachers attitude towards the class can have an exponential impact on their students learning capacity. As from the quote from Oscar Wilde Life imitates art, our students imitate our teachers, our actions and what we do, this is called (role) modeling. Being enthusiastic in your class motivates your students learn. Communication is also another key to be effective. In the book, there are several components which cover effective communication techniques so that you can teach with more clarity. First is precise terminology, which means that teacher eliminates vague and ambiguous words and phrases in their lessons. In other words, communicate and teach at the level your students can understand. Second is connected discourse, which means that teachers presentation is logically connected and leads to a point. In more clear terms, dont ramble, and make it relevant to what youre teaching. Third is transition signals communicate that one idea is ending and another is beginning. Fourth is to emphasis, which communicates that an idea or topic has special significance. It helps students determine the relative importance of the topic theyre learning. Student involvement and questioning is an

essential element of effective learning. We want our students to be more active and have fun. Questioning your students helps you gauge if they are understanding the material. Competency 4 stated, The teacher understand learning processes and factors that impact student learning and demonstrates this knowledge by planning effective, engaging instruction and appropriate assessments. This competency corresponds with chapter 6 because student involvement is the key to student motivation. Demonstration or model what youre teaching the students, and give examples of the real thing. Involving students through questioning lets you understand your students learning abilities and also motivate your students. Guiding students is also important function of questioning because it helps students relate ideas and integrate new learning with their existing understanding. I would like to implement all the important topics in Module 2, I would like to integrate them into my teaching habits and become a more effective teacher. I would exercise teaching planning for my class every day. I will be well prepare and organize so my students will have everything they need. My classroom environment will be warm and welcoming so all my students will feel comfortable and want to come to class to have fun and learn! Motivation is the key to learning I believe, and I will be motivated myself to become an effective teacher and help my students succeed school and in life.
