    This work supports the hypothesis of a non formal analysis from the theory of argumentation schemes and argumentation theory, out of Plato’s Parmenide excerpts: 1) Its layout normally keeps to certain argumentative schemes, and 2) the nature of the meta-argumentative excerpts confirms the “argumentative rise” of some classical philosophical discussions. The essay shows a new approach to the “Third Man” argument. In conclusion, the analysis confirms the hypothesis and opens a line of research exploring other classics and contemporary texts, as well as evaluation.
