Year 7 GEOGRAPHY This course focuses on 'Geography in Action' and is based on the following key ideas: Place, Scale,

Processes, Connectedness, and Skills. These key ideas are developed as pupils carry out geographical enquiry within the following topics: Sense of place Passport to the world Geography and Christmas Tropical Rainforests Geography and animals China, India, Ghana and links to the UK Tourism Pupils will also have the opportunity to set their own enquiry questions and to use geographical skills to investigate these. Pupils will develop skills including fieldwork, map skills, problem solving, data analysis and teamwork. This course involves a Hounslow Trail and a day fieldtrip to a rural environment. Year 8 GEOGRAPHY This course continues to develop the key ideas of 'Geography in Action', which pupils started to explore in Year 7: Place, Scale, Processes, Connectedness, and Skills. These key ideas are developed as pupils carry out geographical enquiry within the following topics: Wild weather Geography of conflict Amazing Places Population Geography of Science Tropic of Cancer/Capricorn project Coasts Pupils will also have the opportunity to set their own enquiry questions and to use geographical skills to investigate these. Pupils will develop skills including fieldwork, map skills, problem solving, data analysis and teamwork. This course involves a day fieldtrip to the South Coast.

Year 9 GEOGRAPHY This course is based around the concept of 'Geography in Action' and focuses on the following key ideas: Place, Scale, Processes, Connectedness, Skills. These key ideas are developed as pupils carry out geographical enquiry within the following topics: Geography and disease Geography and Careers Globalisation Risky World Extreme Places: Antarctica GAP Year Travel Project Pupils will also have the opportunity to set their own enquiry questions and to use geographical skills to investigate these. Pupils will develop skills including fieldwork, map skills, problem solving, data analysis and teamwork.
