Case Narrative
Enclosed is the report for five samples received at STL’s Denver laboratory on September 28, 2004. The
results included in this report have been reviewed for compliance with STL’s Quality Assurance/Quality
‘Control (QA/QC) plan. The test results shown in this report meet all requirements of NELAC and any
exceptions are noted below.
This report may include data with reporting limits (RL) less than STL's standard reporting limit. These
data and reporting limits are being used specifically to meet the needs of this project. Note that data are
not customarily reported to these levels without qualifiers because they are inherently less reliable and
potentially less defensible than the latest industry standards require.
Dilution factors and footnotes have been provided to assist in the interpretation of the results. Each
sample was analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limit within the constraints of the method.
STL utilizes USEPA approved methods in all analytical work. The samples presented in this report were
analyzed for the parameters listed on the analytical methods summary page in accordance with the
methods indicated. A stimmary of quality control parameters is provided below.
This report shall not be reproduced except in full, without the written approval of the laboratory.
Quality Control Summary for Lot D41280257
Sample Receiving
> The cooler temperature upon receipt at the Denver laboratory was 5.8°C, The samples were
received seven days after the collection date.
> All sample containers were received in acceptable condition,
Holding Times
> The samples were analyzed outside holding times for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The samples
Were received at the laboratory on the day of expiration and due to communication error the analysis
was performed outside holding times.
> All other analyses were analyzed within the required holding time.
TCLP Metals Analysis, Methods SW846 6010B/6020
> The percent recoveries and RPD for the arsenic MS/MSD performed on sample D41280257-003
could not be calculated because the sample amount was four times greater than the spike amount
‘The method blank and LCS were in control.
> No other anomalies were observed.
General Chemistry
> The pH sample duplicate performed on sample D41280257-001 was within control limits,
> No anomalies were observed. All batch QC was in control.
