Point of View!

Use the following information and passages to review the different types of point of view.

Point of View Practice #1


Danielle smiled sheepishly as she told Amy that she couldnt make it to softball practice. Amy thought this was okay. After all, Danielles dad had a broken ankle, and he needed her around the house. Little did Amy know, however, that Danielles dad was fine and that Danielle was planning to go shopping that afternoon.

Sorry Moby, but I cant let you drive Moms car, Tim said. You might crash it, and then Mom will kill me. Moby was disappointed, and let out a few sad beeps.

Although youve walked through the hallways of your school hundreds of times, nothing could ever prepare you for what waits behind the door of Room 129.

When Danielle told me that her dad had broken his ankle, I was really worried. Hes a terrific guy, and I didnt want him to get hurt. Later on, when I found out that shed made the whole thing up, I got mad.

Danielle wore a look of shame on her face when she approached Amy the next day. Shed been figuring out how to apologize for hours, but nothing had come to her. Im sorry I misled you, she said. Amy, still furious, didnt answer. She slammed the door to her locker and walked off.

Mr. Smith was a very strict teacher. He assigned an hour of homework every night. Joey, one of his students, had soccer practice every night. Joey had to stay up late to finish his work. After all, he needed to keep his grades up to play.
