Riassunto Barack Obama Barack Obama was born on 4th August, 1961 in Honolu/u, Hawaii.

His mother, Ann Dunham, was a white American from Wichita, Kansas, and his father, Barack Obama, was a black African from Kenya. Obama taught at the University of Chicago Law School until 2004. In the same period he began to write a book about race relations, Dreams From My Father, based on the story of his life and His second book was , The Audacity of Hop. He also introduced a law Limiting the number of American soldiers in Iraq and energy laws to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by the year 2050. Obama is also a sponsor of the Global Poverty Act which aims to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 In 2007 Obama announced his candidacy for President of the United States. The four most important priorities of Obama's presidential campaign were: ending the war in Iraq, resolving America's economic crisis, increasing energy independence and providing universal health care to ali Americans. On November 4th he won the elections with a crushing victory over the Republican candidate, John McCain, and became the 44th President of the USA and the country's first AfricanAmerican President. When Obama was born, people with his skin colour could not even vote in parts of America, and many were killed for trying.
