Meehan, Im writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Matt Prestia, a wrestler and student whom Ive coached over the past 4 years. Since his freshman year, Matt has always displayed the characteristics I look for in my wrestlers. He is dedicated, and has had a near flawless attendance record over the span of 4 years. His work ethic during our daily workouts has allowed him to not only get bigger and stronger every year, but also get better every year. And finally, Matt has always been a great student. He has maintained a high GPA while carrying a class load of mostly advanced and honors level classes. Aside from these characteristics, Matt is also very well-liked by both his friends and his teachers. On many occasions, other kids on the team seek his guidance in helping them with their school work/projects, and Matt is always happy to help out. He is truly a team player. Matt is also a good manager of his own time. He is involved with several extra-curricular activities, and does a great job of balancing his time between them all. Im never wondering where Matt is, because he does a great job with communication. I believe Matt would make a great addition to the Naval Academy, and I think you would feel the same if given the chance to meet him.
