Introduction: T will discuss focus of the day, start and stop signals, safety, and questions. Focus of the day: Passing Patterns Start and Stop Signals: Start: two whistles. Stop: one whistle and students stop and look at T. Safety: Do not throw the football at the receiver if they are not looking. Only throw the football to the receiver. Keep your head up and watch out for other groups. Catching: -Eyes on the ball, -hands up and open (diamond), -pull ball in towards chest. Questions: -What is a passing pattern? -How do you throw a football? your feet for further directions. Instant Activity: With a group Ss will perform 12 passes. Once finished, Ss will put the ball at their feet so the instructor knows they are ready for further instructions. Transition: Ss leave footballs at their field and jog to T S S

15-20

Activity #1: T will explain/demonstrate the three person weave. 1. Line up on one side of the field. 2. S in the middle starts with the ball and throws it to either side. 3. The S who throws the ball follows their pass. S who catches the ball then moves to the center, throws the football to the last person and then follows their pass. 4. It is a continuous passing drill. The Ss should always follow their pass, and the S who is catching should replace where the person was who just threw it to them. 5. Go from one end of the field to the other. Transition: Ss will jog back to the T for instructions on the next activity. S1 S1 S3 Finish T Start: S2 S3 S1 S3 S2 S2

Activity #2: Hook Practice Rules of the Activity: Ss will have 10 seconds to decide which position they will play (QB, WR, C). They will then set

them selves up in their boundaries. The center will be in front of the QB and the WR will be on the right side of the QB. After 3 times on the right, switch to left, and then rotate positions. Extension Up: WR will run farther away before hooking back. Transition: Ss leave their footballs at their spot on the field and jog to the T. 29-30 Informing: T will describe and show the slant pattern. 1. Center hikes the ball to QB. 2. WR starts on one side of the QB and slants diagonally across to the opposite side of the field. 3. QB throws the ball when WR is about 10 yards away. SS T
