    Some of the shorter or simpler books that are available for free on this website. I will update it as I think of more. Just So Stories Rudyard Kipling Short stories written for children but still enjoyed by adults. They are fables about animals.

    The Red Room HG Wells A short horror story about a mysterious room in a hotel. Written in modern English. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Arthur Conan Doyle Short detective stories about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. Try The Hound of the Baskervilles for longer reading. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Mark Twain A series of funny stories about a small boy in America in the early 20th century. If you enjoy them try The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by the same author. The Collected Poems of Rupert Brooke A collection of poetry written about the 1st World War. Poems are a good way to learn vocabulary.
