PE Assessment

PE Assessments 1 How am I responsible for the team results? Everyone on the team member is responsible for his or her teams result. The whole team is responsible when a goal is scored against them or when they score a goal because it is a team accomplishment; to believe so otherwise is selfish. I play volleyball and every team member is responsible for each point lost or made. When a ball is coming over the net, it can go anywhere. One player cant return all the balls, so it is important that you trust your teammates. Not trusting your teammates will make your team members feel worse and lower their confidence. It takes more than one player to play three hits, you need someone to receive, set up and lastly attack. Even if you didnt touch the ball during one play; you should still be there behind your teammates as a guardian Angel in case anything goes wrong. Everyone is responsible for everything that happened on court because there was always something that you could have done to help. The players on the bench are also very important; I often look at my teammates on the bench for support. The teammates on the bench need to keep a positive attitude and encourage the team. It is so important that the team includes everyone and that everyone is respected. There should be no bullying on the team. Every single team member is there because they are passionate about the sport and they all have the same goal. As for a professional athlete, an example is a goalkeeper named Khalid Askri for Morocco in 2010. The teams were taking penalties. The Moroccan goalie knocked the ball away; he began celebrating and walking away from the goal. Funnily enough the ball started spinning towards the goal and made its way over the goal line. In this embarrassing case the goalie has to take full responsibility for his careless mistake. Another example, will focus on Rugby. It is a very physical sport however it is a great team sport. To score a try and defend the whole team is there and involved. In image 1 you can see that number seven is going to pass the ball to number twelve. However there are two defenders, so number 8 goes into contact to create a

clear route for number 7. Number 10 is also there for support in case there is a need for a pass. This is a perfect example of how everyone on the team is involved. If this play leads to a try it was because everyone did his or her little bit to score it. In image 2 there is an example of defense. There is normally a long line of defense. This life shifts along the width of the field and moves towards the ball. In image two there is an example of basic defense and how the whole teams works together to defend. This shows how every single player is needed throughout the whole game. You will notice that being one player short really does affect the team. As for a link outside of life, you are responsible for what you do. You cannot expect people to do things for you. It is also important to help others, dont only focus on yourself. In conclusion in a team sport, you play as a team, win and lose as the team. Therefore the teams result is the whole teams responsibility. Image 1:

The player with the ball form the Black team can either drive into the defensive line again or needs to pass the ball backwards for another player to drive.

The red arrow represents the defensive line.

When the black team attacks the defense line, one or two of the green players will tackle. Assuming that there is not turn over, there will be another group of green player ready to support or either defend another attack. This is another good example of trusting your teammates and how everyone is involved. In rugby it is important to know that your teammates have your back.

PE Assessment 2:
What is the relation between? - Quality of interaction -Quantity of input -Quality of play 2. Reflect critically on all aspects of being a team member
The relationship between quality of interaction, input and play is what makes a great team member. Every member of a team should to some extent be able play the sport, interact with their teammates and lastly put in some personal effort. The relationship between the quality of input and play is the more personal effort you put in the better you will perform or play in the game. A difficult and challenging practice will make easier games. It is also vital for a team sport that there is a form of interaction. There is no team if the players within it do not make an effort to communicate with one another. No communication will lead to silly mistakes and misunderstanding on the field. This leads on to my next point, the quality of interaction will affect on how well the team works together. Even if each individual player is outstanding they will never play well as a team. Quality of interaction and input are shown in the way you play. Each team member needs to have the characteristics mentioned above. Ideally, the team member should also be Positive= to encourage your teammates even when things are looking bad. Selfless= to pass the ball and let you teammate score, share the glory. Have good intentions= be nice to your teammates, dont make them feel uncomfortable on and off court. Respectful= respect your teammates, coach and referee. Supportive=help them out and dont make them feel worse if they have made a mistake. Committed= be committed to the team without that you wont improve. This is just a general list of some characteristics a team member should have. Of course there are some others as well.
