Mole Quantities Lab Unit 2 The Mole Concept

PROBLEMS: Determine the number of atoms present in a level teaspoon of aluminum powder A. Find weight of aluminum powder and use conversion factors to convert it to atoms. B. Find mass of teaspoon= 2.10g Find mass of aluminum powder on teaspoon 5.47g Find mass of aluminum = 5.47g - 2.10g = 3.37g C. Convert mass to mole then to atoms 3.37g x 1mol/26.982g x 6.02x10^23/1atom =7.52x10^22

Concluding Statement: 7.52x10^22 atoms of aluminum power are present in a a level of teaspoon. 2.Determine how many level teaspoons of iron are needed to find 1.00 mol of iron powder A. Find weight of iron in the teaspoon and convert that to moles. Use that information to see how may teaspoons are needed to find 1 mole of iron powder B. Weight teaspoon= 2.10g Weight of Iron on teaspoon 8.32g Weight of iron= 8.32g - 2.10g = 6.22 g C. Convert the mass of the teaspoon iron to moles first 6.22g x 1mol/55.845g = 0.11 moles of iron Then find how many there are to find 1.00 mole of iron powder 1.00 mol / 0.11 mol =9.09 teaspoons Concluding Statement: 9.09 teaspoons are needed to find 1.00mole of iron.
