Learning Objectives:

Integrate and develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to express ideas and opinions related to holidays ( 3 of November Separation of Panama from Colombia, 4 of November Flag day, 28 of November Independence of Panama from Spain.) and important events with adequate word order. Suggested Assessment Activities:
1. Teacher will divide the students in groups of 4and assign one of the historical day 2. Teacher will asks for and provide basis information on Panamanian festivities with an adequate vocabulary and grammatical accuracy 3. They will investigate in internet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Panama 4. They will watch a video about the National Days in You tube in http://www.educatina.com/fechas-patrias/panama-1903-separacion-de-colombia 5. Recognizes concepts and definitions related to Panamanian festivities from brochures, booklets or newspaper ads. 6. In group they will make a brochure, a dramatization and a video using their creativity. About the historical events

Time Requirement: 2 periods of 38 minutes each Description of the Task Students are to create a brochure, a drama and make avideo, that will show the concepts of the National Day assigned to the group that is celebrated in the month of November. The brochure must contain important events of those times Final Product

Each group will submit a six-eight panel brochure that effectively describe the events that took place in those days. The information in the brochure should be presented in an appropriate manner, using an attractive format, correct spelling, correct word order, chronological order and the brochure should be suitable for distribution in the classroom to each student, the last panel of the brochure or the back of the poster must contain a list of all the sources the student has used in researching the job search process. This section should be titled Sources Used. Any quotations taken directly from a source must be appropriately acknowledged. Note: The Sources Used section will not be evaluated as part of the exemplar task but is included to ensure that all the sources used by the student to complete the task are cited. Assessment and Evaluation The Peer-Editing Checklist will be used for formative assessment. The Job Search Brochure Rubric will be used to evaluate the final product. The Rubric for Grading Dramatization will be used to evaluate final products.
