This document describes a line-powered 60Hz clock generator circuit that uses a metal oxide varistor, a 400V 1A diode, and a 120VAC power source to generate a clock signal. The circuit uses a 0.022uF capacitor and 4.7K resistor to create fast rising and falling edges on the 5V clock signal for triggering a Schmitt trigger if faster edges are needed. The single page schematic was drawn by Dave Johnson on February 23, 1999.
