An Apology must be sincere and show true remorse; must acknowledge the offender knew what they did

wrong; must acknowledge the impact of what they did; must give the aggrieved the opportunity to accept the apology (face to face in native tradition - no proxies - people, not organizations); and if not accepted, an apology must allow the aggrieved to set the terms under which an apology would be accepted the apology must provide some kind of compensation or retribution which must be acceptable to the aggrieved; and finally it must set out clearly how and why the reasons for the apology and the corrective actions that will be taken to show it will never happen again
