AMHenn2017@spartans.manchester.edu Manchester University, Box 759 North Manchester, IN 46962 (260) 224-7758 October 29, 2013 Andrew Stout Professor Manchester University 604 E College Ave North Manchester, IN 46962 Dear Mr. Stout Choosing physical therapy as my intended career did not happen to be a difficult decision. I love to help people and enjoy tracking the progression of how much I am able to help. I have always been extremely interested in the medical field, but nothing has caught my interest quite like physical therapy has. My major of exercise science will prepare me to apply to graduate school in order to reach this career. I am sure that this career is for me because it will enable me to fulfill my love for helping others. My sister has pursued a career as a physical therapists assistant. Observing the tasks that my sister performs on a daily basis sparked my interest in the field in the first place. I am striving to be a physical therapist; not an assistant, but the similarities in responsibilities have caught my attention. My sister stands as a role model for me because I have watched her progress in her career since I was in middle school. I hope to somewhat walk in her footsteps and pursue a career as a physical therapist. My senior year of high school I was lucky enough to be selected as an intern at a hospital. During this internship I met all the therapists and regular patients. Experiencing this time at the hospital only verified my decision to go to school to be a physical therapist because I loved every second of it. The caring and compassionate therapists inspired me to work towards a career in physical therapy. I loved every second of spending time with patients and learning how things worked. This experience sealed the deal for me. Though I am just beginning my journey in college, my academic success in high school has engrained drive and work ethic within me. These skills will help me accomplish my goals to be successful in my exercise science major. Like the therapists I observed, I am caring and compassionate, which is crucial for this career. I possess the needed combination of skills. Thank you. Allison Henn Enclosure: Resume
