AbstractGarbage enzyme, a fermentation product of kitchen waste, water and brown sugar, is claimed in the media as a multipurpose solution for household and agricultural uses. This study assesses the effects of dilutions (5% to 75%) of garbage enzyme in reducing pollutants in domestic wastewater. The pH of the garbage enzyme was found to be 3.5, BOD concentration about 150 mg/L. Test results showed that the garbage enzyme raised the wastewaters BOD in proportion to its dilution due to its high organic content. For mixtures with more than 10% garbage enzyme, its pH remained acidic after the 5-day digestion period. However, it seems that ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus could be removed by the addition of the garbage enzyme. The most economic solution for removal of ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus was found to be 9%. Further tests are required to understand the removal mechanisms of the ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus This environmental friendly enzyme is developed by Dr. Rosukon Poompanvong of Thailand. She has been actively involved in enzyme research for more than 30 years and encourages people to make garbage enzyme at home to recover our Ozone layer and ease global warming.

Dr. Rosukon Poompanvong is the founder of the Organic Agriculture Association of Thailand. Working with farmers throughout Thailand and in Europe, she has succeeded in growing top-quality agricultural produce at no expense to the environment. She received an award for her outstanding achievement in organic farming by the FAO Regional Office in Bangkok in 2003. Dr Rosukon, who has a Ph.D. in alternative medicine, helped create in 1984 the Organic Agriculture Association of Thailand and seven years later, on her own with donations she had saved from practising acupuncture, she started a mobile training service to teach farmers around the country how to produce healthy foods with her enzyme method. Her mission is to help people heal themselves. Villagers from near and far come to the Health Farm to study her methods of planting, treating crops and recycling all organic waste. She also continues her mobile training, visiting three villages a week. If Thailand intends to become the kitchen of the world, Dr Rosukon is determined to make it a good kitchen, not a toxic kitchen.

Dr Rosukon's Garbage Enzyme is a complex organic substance of protein chains and mineral salts and juvenile hormones. Functions of Garbage Enzyme - resolve / decompose - transform / change - compose / make up / combine - catalysis As a result of catalysis, ozone is produced which can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and this in turn reduces global warming. This enzyme can be produced easily with the organic waste from our kitchens. During enzyme production, O3 NO3 CO3 are generated and these could help purify and whiten the clouds in the sky. Those clouds that trap lots of heavy metals appear dark. Those dark clouds cause more heat to be trapped on earth. O3 (ozone) from the Garbage Enzyme could reduce the

heavy metals in the clouds and this would reduce global warming. More NO3 (nitrite) in the air is useful as nutrients for the plants and soil. Use Garbage Enzyme to Clean the Environment. This enzyme will neutralize toxins and other pollutants in rivers, soil, atmosphere, thereby refreshing our Earth.

Direction for use:

Garbage enzyme can be used diluted with water at a specific dilution ratio. In homes, garbage enzyme is used: - as a household cleaning liquid - to remove foul odours, molds and grime in the kitchen and toilet - as an anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent - to drive away insects - to clean carpets and remove ticks - for laundry washing and ironing - for mopping floors - for cleaning cars For shampoo, dish wash, laundry liquid etc: use enzyme to reduce chemical toxicity. Ratio = 1 part enzyme : 1 part detergent/cleaner : 10 parts water Washing vegetables: Add 30ml (2 tbsp) enzyme to 1 litre water. Soak for 45 minutes. Floor cleaning: Add 30ml (2 tbsp) enzyme to moping water. To clean and sterilize. Car care: Add 30ml (2 tbsp) enzyme to water tank to reduce car temperature.

Benefits And Uses Of Garbage Enzyme

Save Money! Convert raw vegetable scraps from your kitchen into a natural, non-toxic multipurpose cleaning solution instead of buying expensive, polluting chemical cleansers. Save Space! Reduce the clutter in your kitchen cabinet with one multi-purpose cleanser instead of a host of specialised, toxic ones. Save Waste! Reducing and recycling waste by making and using Garbage Enzyme saves landfill space. Methane generated from garbage in landfills is 21 times more effective than carbon dioxide in trapping heat that is warming the earth. Make garbage work for the earth, and us not against! Save The Earth! The fermentation of vegetable waste in making Garbage Enzyme creates ozone, a gas that lowers the levels of carbon dioxide in the air. Carbon dioxide is converted to carbonate (CO3), which is beneficial to marine life. When used in the garden or farm, the enzyme converts ammonia to nitrate (NO3), a natural plant nutrient. Imagine the effect if every household on earth made and used Garbage Enzyme!

Garbage Enzyme's Many Uses

Purify air (see Save The Earth point above): Ozone produced in the creation of Garbage Enzyme kills airborne bacteria and increases oxygen levels in the air. Deodorise air: Diluted and sprayed into a room from a bottle, it removes odours the air. Cleaning the house: Just 2 tablespoons of garbage enzyme in a bucket of water as you mop will clean the floor and kill bacteria. Cleaning the toilet: Use undiluted to clean the toilet. It kills harmful microorganisms, breaks down heavy stains, freshens the air, and keeps ants and roaches away. Cleaning the kitchen: Use diluted. It can effectively clean most stubborn kitchen stains. Pour it into the sink and let it sit overnight to keep your drains running freely. Cleaning vegetables: Wash fruits and vegetables with a light dilution of Garbage Enzyme to remove traces of pesticide on them. Cleaning clothes: Pre-soaking your laundry with a little Garbage Enzyme will make your usual laundry detergent work better, and you don?ft have to use as much detergent. Skin care: Discover softer hair and skin when you add a little diluted enzyme (1:10) to shampoo and shower gel. It makes them work better without using as much. It also adds an anti-bacterial property to your favourite bath products. Pet care: Great uses here for keeping your pet smelling clean, and their litter tray or kennel fresh! Car care: A little Garbage Enzyme in your radiator water will help keep it running cooler and more smoothly. You can deodorise the car, as you would a room, with a light misting of diluted enzyme water. Garden care: Water plants with water with some diluted enzyme added to help plants grow more healthily, and reduce pest attacks. Watering barren ground can be revived when it is constantly watered with enzyme treated water for three months.

Uses of Garbage Enzyme

FOR GARDENING OR FARMING: Dilute to 1000 times with water for use as natural insecticides, herbicides, pesticides and organic fertilizers. Also can be used to stimulate plant hormone to improve quality of fruits and vegetables and to increase crop yield. Spray on idle land for 3 months continuously to improve soil quality. In agriculture, garbage enzyme is used: - to reduce the usage of chemical fertilizers - to keep the farm free from insects and infections - as a soil fertilizer for vegetable growing - as a natural pesticide and herbicide - to convert sandy land to fertile farm land - keep the air cool and clean in the farm atmosphere - clean the dirty and impure water in the farm Enzyme is also proven that it can purified the river. The billabong/ stagnant water become running water after pouring enzyme into it. Even fish can live in it.

Dr. Rosukons Garbage Enzyme DIY

1. Fill up 60% of your container with water. Air tight plastic container is recommended for this use. 2. Add in brown sugar (jaggery or molasses sugar) and kitchen waste (fruits and vegetables dregs) according to the following ratio.

For example, if you have 20 liters of water, you should add in around 6 kilograms of kitchen waste as well as 2 kilograms of brown sugar into your container. 3. Leave some space in the container for fermentation. 4. Close your container tight and leave it for 3 months. Open daily to release gases from the fermentation process during the first month. Push the floating waste downward every once in a while. 5. Place your container at cool, dry and well ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight. Your garbage enzyme shall be ready to use in 3-month time.
