ABSTRACT/ ene!able energy is mostly sought after because they are abundantly available, non depleting, sustainable and eco"friendly# Depletion of fossil fuels is creating an alarming need to tap and harness rene!able energy efficiently# $hough different methods to tap these forms of energy are slo!ly becoming available, identification of potential areas to harvest energy and management of harnessed energy, prove to be great challenges# In addition to this, !eather and climatic condition in a given region are continuously varying !hich becomes difficult to predetermine the energy that can be harnessed in a particular place given a specific time# $his paper discusses the application of %eographic Information System&%IS' and emote Sensing& S' techni(ues in continuously assessing factors li)e global solar radiation, !ind speed, !ind direction, ocean current and the li)e in the already identified hotspots# $he various parameters measured are used to calculate the amount of energy that can be generated using various techni(ues# $his estimation is sent to the local energy harnessing sites# $he energy demand of every area is stored and continuously updated in a database# *ased on the demand, efficient !ay to transport the energy produced is determined using path planning algorithms !hich could reduce the transportation cost to a very great e+tent# $he greatest advantage of this model is that it gives optimal and feasible solutions for input !hich is highly fluctuating in terms of climatic condition, industrial capacity and user demand# Even rerouting becomes possible if a particular path is bloc)ed due to accident or a natural disaster# Another advantage is ,rendering on map- !hich facilitates greater understanding and visual clarity of the situation and the solution proposed# Keywords: ene!able energy, %eographic Information System, emote Sensing, energy demand, path planning algorithm, map
