That means that for the school year of 2 !"# your child should be enrolled in either $th or %th period band. &f your child is in enrolled in either class# he'she is re(uired to participate in )** band acti+ities. Performances This band focuses on football games# parades# and contest. ,ootball games -ill be on ,ridays and most parades tend to fall on a .aturday. .tudents are to arri+e on time and in the correct attire on performance days. .tudents arri+ing late or not fully dressed -ill be penali/ed. 0unishments range from physical training# clean up duty# or not being able to perform. Practices .tudents should be enrolled in band class throughout the school day. During the school day# your child -ill be -orking on becoming a better musician. That means scales# rhythms# and technical training. )fterschool rehearsals -ill be designated for learning routines# sectionals and marching practice. )fterschool practices are 1ust as important as rehearsal during school and -ill be held t-ice a -eek during football season so please make arrangements -ith your child to ensure his'her attendance. Uniforms :niforms -ill pro+ided from ;TM .port-ear at 47 . This is the same uniform that -e used during the 2 !2<2 !" school year so you are not re(uired to purchase one if your child purchased one last year. )ll band members are re(uired to purchase t-o shirts at 4! per shirt. The due date for uniforms is due on ,riday# )ugust " # 2 !". Parent/Student Commitment We understand that it is possible that a uniform may ha+e to be purchased for my child. We also understand that this uniform can cost as much 47 per student. While -e kno- that there is no cost for any child to be in band# -e understand that the BTW Band -ill assist in raising money so that each student can ha+e a uniform. This is a big financial commitment for the band and if the student is getting fitted for a uniform# then the parent -ill ensure that the child -ill attend )** practices and performances and -ill do so in -ith a positi+e attitude. &n other -ords# getting fitted for a uniform is a commitment made by the parent and student. &t -ill get hot this summer# but that -ill pass.
