FOREWORD

This National Conference is a conglomeration of various experts working in Modeling and Simulation for Technology Design and Decision Support and is second in series being organized by CSIR Enterprise Transformation Group, a wing of IT Division of CSIR Corporate Office. This National event would focus on inter-disciplinary solutions for technology advancements in various sectors such as Energy, Health, Infrastructure, Manufacturing Industry, e-Governance and such others. The selected papers reflect the on-going research in various fields. Some of the topics presented include critical issues dealing with cloud computing, technologies occurring in the workplace, ERP and its implementation, necessary skills for information systems professionals, and factors involved in doing business on the Internet. Thanks to the efforts of all the participants, the Conference has received an overwhelming response and witnessed over 50 paper submissions. Those authors whose papers were chosen for presentation at the Conference submitted manuscripts to be published in these Proceedings. The aim is to help researchers all across the country to develop their research work and skills through constructive face-to-face interaction with their peers and experienced national academics, provide a platform for fruitful interaction with senior academicians and be an outlet for disseminating their research work and to serve as a tool for developing the technology in various sectors. The deliberations would bring about understanding in technologies available for system design, ERP solutions and would address issues pertaining to technological challenges and glitches in the implementation of automation in a large enterprise. Hearty welcome to all delegates and participants to the Conference and best wishes for a fruitful interaction/discussion.

BACKGROUND can be carried out by bacterial metabolism and physical sedimentation [1]. The Water Hyacinth root system is a good medium for filtration. It adsorbs suspended materials, nutrients and heavy metals [2]. The basic mechanism of adsorption by water hyacinth has been reported [3]. It is also reported that roots are highly efficient in removing the heavy metals [4].
