Do not download or install inappropriate images, games, or music Do not go to inappropriate or social networking sites (ie Facebook, Twitter) Do not plagiarize or break copyright laws (see Copyright Laws) Do not use anyones but your username and/or password given to you Do not engage in cyber bulling

Misuse of computers or failure to adhere to the rules will result in the following 1. First offense- verbal warning (depending on the severity of the offense) 2. Second offence- computer use suspended for one week, note home to parents (any assignments needing computer use will need to be done during students personal time and computer) 3. Third offence- computer privileges will be limited and monitored during a probation period 4. Anything plagiarized receives an automatic zero and is subject to criminal penalties for copyright violation 5. Engaging in cyber bulling will result in a visit with the principal and punishment will be determent based upon school policy Plagiarism, Fair Use and Copyright Laws Plagiarism-the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own Copyright is the protection of original works of authorship, provided by laws of the United States (title 17, U. S. Code). This includes literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. Criminal penalties for copyright violation include (1) a fine of not more than $500,000 or imprisonment for not more than five years, or both, for the first offense or (2) a fine of not more than $1 million and imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or both, for repeated offenses.-The United States Copyright Office.
