UDL Reflection Paper When having to create a lesson plan that involves UDL within it can be challenging.

A lot of lessons are already written out with the thought in mind that all the students will be learning and thinking in the same way, which is not the case. All teachers need to make sure they think about each student individually and make sure they implement ways in their lesson for every student to learn to the best of their ability. Creating a lesson with UDL principles and analyzing a lesson to make sure that UDL is implemented takes a long time. It takes a long time because you have to think about students individually and what you need to add in the lesson for them. Some strengths of UDL lesson planning is that when you add UDL principles into the lesson it will help the individual student you are thinking of, but could also help other students as well. This is a fantastic strength about UDL lessons. Every student learns and works differently than other students. With many students in a classroom, how can one teacher design a lesson that is appropriate for each learner? This is a struggle that teachers continue to struggle with. However, by implementing UDL into a lesson, teachers can consider all students needs. In return, this helps ALL students benefit in their learning. There are also some challenges and limitations when creating a lesson with UDL. One challenge is that it could just be hard to implement UDL into your lesson. Doing this requires a lot more work for the teacher and could also be more time consuming. Teachers create daily lesson plans, grade papers, attend meetings before and after school, and much more. With juggling each of their students learning and health, and pressures from the education bored, finding extra time can be extremely difficult. Besides this, depending on the UDL being implicated into the lesson, there may be price and accessibility concerns. The school or teacher

may not have the funds required to create or access these adaptations. In this case, UDL lessons

may seem hard and impracticable to create.
