Students have already been introduced to the letter sounds , -, ., /, S, and 0. It is important for students to be able to listen to letter sounds and *now the consonant they belong to. 0his is critical *nowledge that needs to be mastered before reading can occur.

Accommodations:

&or students who may not hear well, I will have them sit closer to me while on the carpet. If the students are sitting closer to me I can assure they hear the letter sounds we are reviewing. 0ateria+s: -anging 3ut+ wor*sheet, pencil, crayons, scissors, glue, chart paper, pictures, E%.3 projector.

1rocedures:

.otivation 0echni,ues# Students will get to choose pictures out of a brown bag. 0his will build suspense for the students and will cause them to pay more attention to the lesson. 0hey will be wondering what each child will pic* from the bag. 6rouping# uring the lesson, all of the students will be on the carpet as a whole group. !fter the review is over the students will go bac* to their seats to do the wor*sheet. Instructional Strategies (steps) Students will be called to the carpet. 1e will do a review on the letter sounds. , -, ., /, S, 0. I will say the letter and the students will tell me what sound each of the letters ma*es. 0hen, I will get my bag of pictures out and each student will choose one. 0he student will have to tell me the beginning sound of their picture. 0he student will then place the picture under the letter it goes with on the chart paper. !fter we are finished charting each picture under its letter we will go through and say each of the pictures and its beginning sound. Students will then go bac* to their tables. 0he -anging 3ut wor*sheet will be given out. Students will cut out pictures themselves on the wor*sheet and glue them under the letter they go with. 7ust li*e we did as a group on the carpet. Acti*it2 Ana+2sis: Identify at least two activities you plan to use in this lesson and e8plain why you are planning these specific activities. In your e8planation include the following prompts# The students will get to choose a picture from a brown bag and place the picture under the letter that is its beginning sound. This is a hands-on activity for the students and a way to get them excited to review letter sounds. The students love grabbing pictures from a bag that they cannot see through. The students will do the Hanging Out worksheet on their own. This will be a way for me to assure that the students comprehended the review that we went over together on the carpet. I will use the E !O pro"ector to help students with the worksheet. I will pro"ect mine on the E !O# so that the students can check their work.
