ENG 1102 End of Semester Reflection Portfolio RECAP: This semester you have engaged in a line of inquiry stemming

from our course theme: understanding yourself as a reader/writer. You have conducted research which explored various conversations surrounding our theme and understand more about it. You have had the opportunity to collect, read and annotate a variety of sources, information and opinions regarding your inquiry. You have also had the opportunity to make this semester project your own by including multi-model genre projects as to interpret meaning into your topic of choice. Argument for Grade: The easiest way for you to synthesize your work over the semester is to put together an ePortfolio (through Weebly, Yola, Webs, etc) and have the work labeled.

1. Which of the individual claims you make in the projects are

strongest/weakest? Based on the various projects in this class I believe my communication and choice of words skills are my strongest claims. I am able to present my topic very clearly in my opinion and back it up with justification. My weakest claims in my judgment, are my organization skills and my ability to evaluate my work. 2. Is there a piece that was more important for you and why? The Literacy Narrative was most important to me mainly because I was able to prove to myself how far I have come as a writer. It really showed me how my writing skills have developed as a whole. 3. Is there a piece that was more difficult for you and why? The Multi Modal Tech Genre was the most difficult for me because it required a lot of creativity and took me out of my comfort zone of normal writing assignments.
4. If you think you have learned to make connections between texts or learned

to apply ideas from texts into your life, show me where. This book focuses a lot on the meaning and quality of life. After reading it I have been thinking more positively about my surroundings. For example, I have had to commute to college for this year which seemed to me as a boring routine. However I began to accept it because I am thankful for the ability and opportunity to be going to college.

5. Reflect on the processes that you went through with each major piece.

With each major piece came a lot of planning and evaluation. I mentally thought of my course of action and made it happen to the best of my ability. 6. Did you discover anything new/interesting/insightful? I actually discovered many things throughout my work in my class. I have learned a larger variety of online resources that could benefit me throughout my college career. Your own participation and effort in the class Much of this class rests on the assumption that you are self-motivated to participate, read, ask questions, help your classmates, can (and willing) to navigate Moodle and do what you need to do in order to succeed in the class. Although I have my own view of who participates and who doesn't, I would like your input here about yourself. Based on my grade and work ethic in the class I believe worked to the best of my ability throughout the entire semester. I did all I could to achieve the highest grades on each of the given assignments and I am very proud of myself for doing so. Overall, in English 1101, I would say I have been pretty successful. You registered for the class did you do all you could to succeed? I have done all I could to succeed in this class. If I could go back in time however, I would make sure a couple assignments I submitted would be turned in on earlier.

Discuss the Discussion Forum. Did it help you understand the literary terms better? ---- You do not have to put the actual discussion in your ePortfolio, just your analysis of it in this reflection. The discussion forum helped me achieve a greater understanding of the literary terms that were given. Along with reviewing the terms I was unsure of, I could help my peers with the ones they were struggling with which deepened my knowledge of a large amount of the literary terms.
