Working Title: Simple and Important Things to Know Experiential guiding questions: What are important skills to know

when on your own or that will help to create a selfsufficient individual? How can I use creative writing to compose a compelling How to anual!? Research paper guiding questions: What careers are there in creative writing? How hard is it to "e successful in these careers? Project description: y pro#ect consists of a "ook that I will put together$ This "ook will contain information such as how to change a car tire% how to change a "ike tire% and may"e the names of tools$ These are things that I don&t really know at this point% "ut pro"a"ly should and I am using this opportunity as motivation to learn them$ 'lso with in its pages will "e illustrations "oth drawings and photography to give it a little creative flair% at least that is the plan so far$ I intend on asking for assistance in learning how to do these things% from people "oth that I know and some that I don&t ("ut no family that is too easy) so that there is an element of risk-taking to my pro#ect$ ' possi"le component would "e to ask people who might have good answers what things are important to know$ There is one more aspect that I would really like to include% for it is my favorite form of art and I would like the opportunity to work on it more$ It would "e creative writing$ *ow whether it can fit it into this and have it make sense I have yet to determine% "ecause the things I write don&t have anything to do with the skills one might need through their lives$ However I am going to attempt it and if it really does not flow I will remove it% "ut my hope is that it can simply add a "it of uni+ueness% or something that will make it more mine than not$ Reasons for selecting project: The main goal to this is to help me achieve the goal to "e someone who is capa"le of fi,ing things like a flat tire with out needing to call someone for help$ I suppose it would add an aspect of independence that would otherwise "e missing$ While trying to think of something I could do for my senior pro#ect I reali-ed that this would "e the perfect opportunity to learn some simple things that can may"e develop into a more intuitive understanding of working with and restoring items that are a common part of our lives$ Main project tasks: .ind a sufficient amount of skills that are commonly or can "e important to know$ Interview people$ /reate a list of these skills$ .ind people who can demonstrate how to perform the tasks$ 0se the Internet for some research$ .ind a good place to make the "ook online$ (Snapfish?)
