Differentiated Instruction

Differentiated Instruction is a theory in which teachers adjust the content to address a variety of learning styles, interests and abilities in the classroom. In this concept teachers provide several learning options and challenges in order to meet students on their levels. I will use this type of instruction on a daily basis in my classroom. I may have students with IEPs, kinetic learners, auditory learners, and visual learners. I will have to try to incorporate instruction that helps the student retain the information based on his or her learning style. I also will need to tailor assignments based on students IEP requirements. There will also be students who are low, medium and high. It will be important to try to make sure that each of them are challenged and are learning from the lessons. Overall, this is a very important aspect of the classroom, it helps ensure that all students are learning.
