In signing this release, I agree that exchange for participating in the City of Tiffins Park and
Recreation Departments Sand Volleyball League that I am fully aware, understand and assume
all of the dangers and risks of this activity and waive all claims or causes of action which may
otherwise arise out of participating in this league. For myself and the participant, I realize and
agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Tiffin, its employees, volunteer staff, league
officials, league participants, and any other person related to this league, from liability or
responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss of any kind whatsoever which is caused by
participants taking part in the Tiffin Sand Volleyball League.

2013 Sand Volleyball League Rules

General Rules
a. Each Match during regular season play will consist of three games.
b. The home team determines if they want to serve first in the first and third sets, or
which side of the court they play on.
c. The first two sets shall be played to 25 points using rally scoring as well.
During the last set, teams will switch side when one team reaches a score of 8. A
team must have a 2 point lead to win.
d. If a game is in progress and is suspended die to unforeseen circumstances, it will
be rescheduled and resume where left off.
e. All teams will be given a 5 minute grace period from scheduled game time
before a forfeit is called for the first set. An additional 10 minutes will be given
(15 minutes total from start time) before all 3 sets are forfeited.
f. All fees must be paid by the first scheduled game.
g. Games will be played, unless there is severe weather with lightning etcPlease
do not assume the games are postpones because of bad weather. Must show up
regardless unless someone calls you!
Roster
a. A team is allowed to use anyone as a substitute as long as that person has not
already substituted or played for any other team in the same league and if the
player is at least 16 years of age.
b. No More Additional players can be added to your roster after June 27, 2013.
Game
a. Must have minimum of four players on the court. The Co-Ed League must have
two girls on the court.
b. The serve may not be blocked and clean sets are a must
c. A female must hit the ball before the ball crosses the plane of the net if more than
one hit is used.
d. If a ball causes the net to touch a player, play continues.
e. If a ball touches a boundary line, it is considered in-bounds.
f. A serve that hits the net and goes over is played as normal.
g. Planted foot digs are legal.
h. All other rules are according to the OHSAA rulebook.
Officials
a. Teams will officiate their own games. Each team will call their own illegal hits
and fouls. When in doubt call a replay. The score shall be called out on every
side- out and upon request.
