Darling-Hammond et al.

(2002) Social Justice Issues and racism in the college classroom: Teaching for social justice: My Journal ( Pages 20-28) The author of this article uses the information that was gathered throughout their training as an education teacher when explaining their conclusion of understanding the ones world and the world of others through literature and poetry. When the author brings up information about racism he/she includes slavery explaining that at some point the author was living in Africa and there realized how communication affected them because there was a time when they found out that in America was still injustices done in society. Apparently as the author realizes these things were still happening he/she also noticed how to take advantage of the education given and also proved people wrong that color does not defy the knowledge a person can acquire. This author is a teacher that had to face many people due to their gender, and skin color as well. The reason that she is important is because she is also teaching other students what she learned in her experiences and the benefits. The students are being impacted in a positive way. Molina-Guzman, I. (2007) Reinventing race, reinventing racism: Illegals under fire: Analyzing U.S. News frames of Latino/a immigration and immigration rights ( pages 209-225) This author authorizes not only the race of the people who have been discriminated but also includes the ethnicity. The author talks about immigration with the Latino race and the things they had to overcome. She includes information dating back to the late 1960s as well. The authors tone is easily detected and distinguished that she has been negatively affected by the discrimination that occurred in the past. This author mainly focuses on the laws that have been passed to somewhat help the race although as this author describes it is not yet enough to satisfy the needs of the people. This particular author is important to my research because she shows passion to explaining racism and discrimination. Mainly the format and the level of professionalism written for the readers. Gibson, J, K. (2010) ) Reinventing race, reinventing racism: Problems of racial justice in Portland, 19682010: Revising the citys Kerners report (pages 81-104) Now this author not only says that people in Portland are racist but also says that the people are discriminating against the gender of people. The author does a great job by mentioning these facts by also using tables and graphs to show the rate of how times have changed and how many women have now been able to have a job.
