Lesson 4: Bear Says Thanks (ELA/Arts)
Lesson Lesson Objectives Assessments Pre: Prior to reading the story, ask students why they think we might be reading this book. Why are we talking about giving thanks? Students writing prompt sentence planning sheet will be used to assess their brainstorming and connection with the story During: During the lesson, anecdotal notes and comments on students work as they create their sentence and bear will be recorded to assess students engagement and participation. Post: After the lesson, students completed sentence of what they say thanks for and bear craft will be used to assess students knowledge and understanding gained from the read aloud. Lesson Four: Bear Says Thanks

After reading Bear Says Thanks by Karma Wilson, students will create a written response and Bear craft to reflect on their message of the story.

For students with special needs: Students are provided with hands on learning to help them understand the content. All students with special needs and IEPS will have all accommodations and needs appropriate to benefit and succeed in lesson on odd and even numbers. I will assess the pre-assessment evaluation by holding a class discussion. Students will be asked what it means to give thanks and why we might be reading this book.
