Adam Edwards Lesson Plan #2 11/19/13 Analysis of Student Products I've included five student products which represent

a total of twenty students. I've rated them from best to worst in order of one, two, or three. After reviewing my students' products, I learned how easy it is for students to model my behavior without understanding the concept of limiting reagents. If they understand where to plug information into the equation, it might look like they are able to calculate a limiting reactant but that is not the case. My level three student did just that; they show no sign of independent work, unfortunately. My level two students understand the concept, but they are missing some problems that I assigned. These students need either more engagement or more time. A level two student wrote a sentence that led me to believe that they missed the whole point, but their calculations proved otherwise. They had other sentences that made more sense. My level one students understand limiting reactants and included all the work and sentences assigned to them. One of these students also included a question at the bottom of their paper, which was one of the responsibilities to the group. Overall, I believe these students were able to build on their prior knowledge and make real world connections in order to find the limiting reactants.
