Jennifer Zbacnik Unit Title: Media and the Gothic

Directions: Throughout this unit we have focused on how Gothic Literature has shaped our media and our culture. Using what you have learned from the readings, our writing workshops, our discussions, and the learning activities that you have completed over the course of this unit, I would like to invite you to create either a multi-genre project or a movie that portrays an alternate ending to the ook that you have read in your reading workshop group. !onsider how culture has shaped and has een shaped y your ook "this is your chance to e creative and take a uni#ue approach to your story$ %ou can work with group mem ers, ut you must hand in everything in the checklist individually, e&cept for the completed movie 'I only need one ()( per group*. If you choose to do a multi-genre you must include+ a poem, a short story, a letter to the author, a cover, and a ook poster. If you choose a movie it must include+ foreshadowing, a coherent plot line ' eginning, middle, and end*, a written script, a short written summary of the plot, a movie poster, and must e ,--./ minutes long. %our projects must e peer edited and revised. 0hile editing and revising make sure that the plot is coherent and clear to the audience, and the work is checked for grammatical and structural errors. 1fter you have completed this project, you will e a le to feature your work at an e&hi ition in our li rary along with the graphic arts class ne&t month.
