Pure Heroine is the first studio album from Lorde and it has received mixed reviews for its

content and style. But I cannot express my love for this album enough. The 15 year old from New Zealand focuses her songs on doing nothing and enjoying it. She comes from a generation where life moves quickly through technology. Lorde just wants us to kill time, and Im inclined to kill it while listening to this album. The lyrics are as real as they come. Lorde mentions on her opening track Tennis Court, Pretty soon Ill be getting on my first plane. Which shows how inexperienced she is with the outside world. So can we blame her for not expanding on more than her friends and feelings? Friends and fun are the focus and who can complain with that? I certainly cant. It is refreshing for her to praise the things that are close to her instead of the gold teeth and grey goose that other artists talk about in Royals, which is the most popular track on the album. My personal favorite though is Team. Team is a fun track that gets you out of your seat and fully encapsulates the focus of Lordes train of thought as well as employs one of the most up-tempo beats of the album. I love how this song comes together and imagine her opening her biggest concerts with this song. It is the closest thing to a banger that Lorde may ever produce. Im hoping that she proves me wrong.
