The Assessment Objectives explained

AO1 – Knowledge and Understanding worth 20% of the overall mark

AO2 – Analysis and Interpretation worth 20% of the overall mark

AO3 – Production Skills worth 60% of the mark

AO1 is based on both the supporting account and the piece of work (the
production artefact) you produce. Two thirds of the mark comes from the
production artefact.

AO2 is based entirely on the supporting account and the production log. The
production log is written throughout the practical work and the supporting
account is written after you have completed your ‘live’ day.

AO3 is based on your production mark. One third of the mark is

awarded for the work itself and two thirds of it comes from teacher
observation both prior to and on the live day.

PRACTICAL PRODUCTION

THE BRIEF – Windmill Films loved your work last year and
think you are ready for more of a challenge. We need
you to produce the following:

3. A 120 second trailer for a feature film aimed at a specific

audience and from one of the following genres – horror,
comedy or romance
4. A 5 minute studio based film review programme which will
air the trailer
5. No more than 12 pages of planning (storyboards, scripts,
logs, textual analysis of existing trailers)
6. An 800 word evaluation of the production process and the
work itself
Groups

You will work in groups of 3 and on the

‘live day’ your group will work with two
other groups from your class to produce
each show.
